Position Summary

As Retail Area Operation Manager:

  • Lead and develop a professional store team to achieve company goals and incrementally improve individual objectives
  • Collaborate with training teams to effectively to develop a gold-standard team
  • Establish weekly/monthly objectives for the team
  • Ensure that all employees present professionally according to company policies and practice the highest level of customer service to achieve maximum sales and radically personal experience
  • Own store P&L report and manage budgets (salary, expenses, inventory, etc.)
  • Ensure that all merchandise is properly and attractively displayed as per visual guidelines
  • Ensure all store standards and operations are to company standards
  • Develop and implement strategies in operational areas, commercial processes, and merchandise management to ensure business growth, in collaboration with the retail structure.
  • Train and develop sales staff to ensure proper performance.
  • Supervise and ensure the different in-store processes to optimize regional/market operational performance.
    • Stockroom: Merchandise management, stock optimisation, stockroom capacity (external stockroom), new openings, optimisation of stockroom space to the benefit of the sales floor.
    • Sales floor: Optimization of display, restocking, signage.
    • Fitting rooms: Queue management and stock recirculation
    • Till: Queue management, returns, and stock and materials management.
    • Shrinkage: monitoring of shrinkage data and actions together with the Market Manager and AMT.
    • Merchandise: Management of incoming and outgoing merchandise, returns, re-labelling.
  • Secure a succession plan to keep the internal talent pipeline ready and promote both in-store and HQ positions.
Major Roles And Responsibilities (Job Details)

Key Responsibilities:

  1. SOP Development & Implementation
    • Develop comprehensive SOPs for operational processes, including inventory management, store facilities maintenance, cash handling, visual merchandising, customer service standards, staff training and document standardized procedures.
    • Ensure SOPs are clear, concise, and aligned with company policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
    • Create an audit mechanism to evaluate compliance with SOPs.
    • Roll out SOPs across all stores, ensuring proper training and communication with store managers and sales staff.
    • Monitor implementation progress and provide ongoing support and guidance to ensure SOPs are effectively followed and integrated into daily operations.
    • Conduct regular audits and assessments to evaluate compliance with SOPs and identify opportunities for improvement.
  2. Visual Guidelines:
    • Develop visual merchandising guidelines and standards to ensure consistent brand representation and enhance the overall shopping experience.
    • Define visual merchandising principles, product presentation standards, and store layout guidelines to optimize sales and customer engagement.
    • Provide training and support to store teams on implementing visual guidelines and maintaining store aesthetics.
  3. Training SOPs:
    • Develop standardized training SOPs for onboarding new employees, ongoing staff development, and skills enhancement.
    • Design training modules, materials, and resources to support the implementation of SOPs and enhance employee competency.
    • Train and develop sales staff to ensure staff understanding and proficiency in SOP adherence, visual guidelines, and operational procedures.
  4. Customer Service Improvement:
    • Identify opportunities to enhance customer service experiences and satisfaction levels across all stores.
    • Develop customer service improvement initiatives, standards, and guidelines to ensure consistent and exceptional service delivery.
    • Implement feedback mechanisms, surveys, and customer satisfaction metrics to measure performance and identify areas for improvement.
  5. Reporting Formats:
    • Develop standardized reporting formats and templates to capture key performance indicators (KPIs), operational metrics, and performance benchmarks.
    • Define reporting requirements, frequency, and data sources to ensure accurate and timely reporting across all stores.
    • Implement reporting tools and systems to streamline data collection, analysis, and reporting processes.
  6. Performance Monitoring:
    • Establish performance targets and benchmarks based on SOPs and operational standards.
    • Monitor performance against targets, analyse variances, and identify areas for improvement.
    • Prepare regular performance reports and dashboards to track progress, highlight achievements, and address performance gaps.
  7. Team Leadership and Development:
    • Provide leadership and guidance to store managers and operational staff in implementing SOPs and achieving operational excellence and cohesive team
    • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the operational team.
    • Conduct training sessions and workshops to enhance staff competency in SOP adherence, reporting, and performance management.
    • Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and support to enhance staff performance, productivity, and morale.
  8. Operational Management:
    • Develop and implement operational strategies to optimize store efficiency, productivity, and profitability.
    • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and operational standards across all stores.
    • Conduct regular store visits to assess operational performance, identify areas for improvement, and provide guidance and support to store managers.
  9. Inventory Management:
    • Oversee inventory control processes, including stock replenishment, stock transfers, and inventory accuracy.
    • Monitor inventory levels, product assortment, and stock movement to minimize stockouts, overstock situations, and shrinkage.
    • Implement effective inventory management practices to maximize sales opportunities and minimize losses.
  10. Operational Efficiency:
    • Identify opportunities to streamline operational processes, reduce costs, and improve efficiency within the area.
    • Implement best practices, standardized procedures, and automation tools to enhance operational effectiveness.
    • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
