Position Summary

Job Summary

The Assistant HR Manager supports the HR Manager in managing day-to-day HR operations, ensuring compliance with employment laws, and fostering a positive work environment. This role involves assisting with recruitment, employee relations, training, and performance management, while also working on HR strategy development and implementation. The Assistant HR Manager acts as a key player in enhancing employee engagement and supporting organizational growth.

Major Roles And Responsibilities (Job Details)

Key Responsibilities

  • Recruitment & Onboarding: Assist in the recruitment process by coordinating interviews, screening candidates, and onboarding new employees. Ensure all necessary paperwork is completed and facilitate orientation programs.
  • Employee Relations: Address employee concerns, support conflict resolution, and foster a positive work environment. Work closely with the HR Manager to handle disciplinary actions and grievances in accordance with company policies.
  • Performance Management: Assist with the implementation of performance appraisal systems, tracking employee progress, and providing feedback to managers. Support the development and monitoring of personal development plans (PDPs) for employees.
  • Training & Development: Help identify training needs and coordinate professional development initiatives. Organize workshops, seminars, and training sessions to improve employee skills and competencies.
  • HR Compliance & Policies: Ensure HR policies comply with local labor laws and internal regulations. Assist in the development and updating of HR policies and employee handbooks.
  • Compensation & Benefits: Help administer employee compensation, benefits programs, and payroll processing. Ensure timely and accurate processing of salary, benefits, and deductions.
  • Employee Engagement: Support initiatives aimed at improving employee satisfaction and retention, including wellness programs, recognition programs, and employee feedback surveys.
  • HRIS & Record Keeping: Maintain and update HR databases and employee records in the HRIS (Human Resources Information System). Ensure proper documentation of employee files, contracts, and performance records.
  • HR Metrics & Reporting: Assist in tracking and analyzing HR metrics, such as employee turnover, absenteeism, and performance outcomes. Prepare HR reports and presentations for senior management.
  • Health & Safety: Support the HR Manager in ensuring workplace safety compliance and managing employee health and safety protocols.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • At least 2-3 years of experience in an HR role (experience in recruitment, employee relations, or HR generalist work preferred).
  • Strong understanding of labor laws and HR best practices.
  • Experience with HRIS or other HR-related software.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive matters professionally.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
